Indoor climate sensors to increase well-being
Since the pandemic at the latest, we have all become more aware of the need for really good indoor air.Our AERASGARD® RCO2-AS room climate sensor is available as a surface-mounted or desktop device and reliably informs you about the quality of your room air thanks to its intuitive traffic light system and optional warning tone. An increased CO2 value leads to poor concentration and discomfort such as headaches or nausea - and can even pose a serious health risk. The room sensor is used wherever many people are present in relatively small rooms, e.g. in schools, offices, conference centres or shops.
Reduction in operating costs
In addition to increasing your sense of well-being, the device also makes a significant contribution to reducing your operating costs. The intuitive traffic light display reliably informs you about the current CO2 concentration in the room. While the green display indicates good room air, the red display (possibly including a warning tone) signals that the limit values for healthy room air have been exceeded. You should initiate immediate ventilation measures. This needs-based room ventilation saves a considerable amount of energy: you ventilate exactly when it is necessary! A few minutes of shock ventilation with the windows wide open is far more effective in terms of energy and health than leaving the windows tilted for a long time, for example. We recommend 1 sensor per 30 m² of room area.

What does the CO2 value have to do with our health?
Where people come together in rooms, they breathe a lot. In addition to the CO2 concentration, this also increases the amount of aerosols in the room air. And these can carry pathogens such as the coronavirus. The Federal Environment Agency specifies a CO2 value of 1,000 ppm (0.1 per cent by volume) as the hygienic upper limit. The CO2 content is also considered a 'surrogate parameter' for infection protection through timely ventilation. But when, how often and for how long? The maintenance-free AERASGARD® RCO2-AS CO2 measuring devices with traffic light display and power supply unit measure the CO2 concentration in the room air from 0 to 3,000 ppm. CO2 is measured using an optical sensor that operates on the precise principle of non-dispersive infrared technology (NDIR).
The self-calibrating CO2 traffic lights have an impact-resistant plastic housing and are available in four versions:
